It's been a minute since our last update, and you may have also noticed there were no newsletters this month (yet!). We have been working hard on some fabulous transitions and new adventures for Retreat Home while keeping up with everything else! I'll share those first, and then our prayer requests.
We have hired an Executive Administrator! Her name is Sarah Le, and she will use the same admin email address for Retreat Home: admin@retreathome. It may still appear as Christina in your contacts, but it will be Sarah! She is a remarkable fit for Retreat Home, already familiar with many of our systems, and she comes from the nonprofit operations world. We are SO blessed to have her. Please take a moment to say hello to her at the email above. You prayed her into this position!
The board and I have been busy refining our "positioning". This means we have a new mission statement and approach, and now that we've been around for five years, we have numbers and statistics to visibly share the impact we are having. We have new board directors coming on, and along with our established team, we are ready to step into a new emphasis for Retreat Home.
We are applying this month for a larger grant than we have received before, and I have been learning a lot about grant writing over the past few months. Please pray for favor in this Cowlitz grant.
The most recent guest family we hosted, whose photos you saw in the newsletters, moved out at the end of April. Their three months went by so quickly! Can you pray for their well-being and for the kids to continue the success they had while here, including consistent attendance at school? Most of our host families, including Brad and me, will be taking a few months off hosting for the summer. Please pray for the next guest families coming in August, that God is already preparing a good fit.
