Available Training Topics Include:

Families in a Housing Crisis Primer

Every day the methods of finding affordable housing are changing. This workshop provides tools for navigating the emergency housing system. We discuss the demographics of the unhoused, the varied causes of homelessness, and how to help someone navigate through the emergency housing system.

Hospitality, Boundaries and Self Care

The practice of hospitality is as transformational for those on the receiving end as it is for those providing it. In this workshop we highlight essential structures to support caring for our neighbors, staying emotionally and physically safe while providing rest, respite, and renewal for others.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma Informed Care is an approach of “do no harm”; it recognizes the presence and role of trauma symptoms in individuals, and promotes positive outcomes by emphasizing safety, empowerment, and choice.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is the practical second half of Trauma Informed Care. Equipped with the ability to identify trauma symptoms, we now look at what to say and how to say it, to establish strengths and ownership of choices.

Spirit Informed Care and Christian Formation

The message of the Christian faith must stay very close to the reality of suffering in our lives. Spirit Informed care looks at false messages we tend to hear through our journeys, and how the teachings of Jesus embrace suffering through solidarity. We highlight the process of Christian Formation, translating practices and experiences into opportunities of Spiritual growth.
